What People Are Saying...

About Platinum Presence

The Platinum Presence workshop was everything I expected, but the most valuable aspects of it were those I did not expect.  I enrolled in the workshop with the goal of becoming a more engaging and comfortable public speaker, and I’m happy to say that this goal was met.  What I didn’t expect was to accomplish something much more profound: to gain a deeper sense of, and appreciation for, who I am as a person.  The workshop focused on looking inward as much as outward (what is it that makes each of us special and unique?), and to our pasts as much as to our futures (what did we love to do as children, and have we lost sight of that along the way?).  As Cheryl and Stephen helped us realize, it turns out that understanding our individual passions and idiosyncrasies is fundamental to cultivating authentic “presence.” Paradoxically, looking inward and backward helps us to project our most authentic – and thus our most engaging and comfortable – selves outward and forward.  Cheryl and Stephen embody this comfort with their inner selves as they project their outer selves in delightfully different ways.

Having studied adult education, I was especially impressed with the curriculum design and pedagogical approach.  This is one of the most holistic, thoughtfully designed workshops I have experienced.  With razor-sharp insights and gentle humor, Cheryl and Stephen use constructive, experiential learning methods that call on multiple forms of intelligence (including intrapersonal, interpersonal, linguistic, artistic, musical, and kinesthetic) to create a supportive yet challenging space for learning.  Some of the teaching methods are traditional: as one might expect, there is plenty of practice speaking before a group.  Other methods are less traditional – including meditation and sitting on large exercise balls – but make perfect sense in context.  The workshop is at once playful and intensely serious, highly individualized and highly collaborative, completely informal and consummately professional.

It’s difficult to capture this experience in a few words, beyond saying that what we (Cheryl, Stephen, and all the participants) accomplished in this three-day workshop has implications for a lifetime.  Better public speaking skills is almost a side effect.

"The team found the program extremely valuable, for reasons that were unique to each individual. It was also a fantastic team-building experience! We were amazed at how much we learned and could apply right away (and we're a team of seasoned trainers and consultants). I'm excited to provide this opportunity to people in the organization with all levels of presentation experience!"

—Margie Naddaff, Director, Employee & Organization Development, Harvard University

"Cheryl and Stephen create a welcoming and informative learning environment, inviting participants to dig deep and work hard. But it's so fun it seems effortless."

—Linda Miklas, Consultant and Trainer, Center for Workplace Development, Harvard University

"I recently presented to a group luncheon of 180 people. Rather than try to get the group’s attention by clearing my throat, tapping the microphone, etc., I stood silently and fully present in front of the group. Within seconds, you could hear a pin drop. I had commanded the attention of the whole room! This is the first time I actually said to myself, "Wow! This is fun!" Now instead of a feeling of dread, I look forward to my next public speaking opportunity."

About the Leadership Presence Workshop.....

Thank you so very much for being a presenter in our Leadership and Team Development class last Thursday night. The students and I absolutely loved your presentation and your being with us.  You truly exemplify the leadership principles and presence that you teach.  Your energy and enthusiasm is also quite contagious! I would highly recommend your program to prospective clients. It was truly a pleasure.

—Dr. Carol Zulauf, Associate Professor, Human Resources, Learning and Performance Programs, Suffolk University.

One of the best presentations I have seen at WIND. You inspired our group of in-transition/unemployed professionals and helped them choose to learn better and more effective communication skills and styles. The audience could put these skills to use immediately in landing new work. The room was energized. And we had a ball-literally! Thanks!”

About Coaching...

Cheryl does an amazing job of helping one bring out their best when they are presenting to a group. Her insights and coaching tips go beyond the normal feedback to really helping you as a person to step into your best self.

—Nick Craig, Organizational Consultant; Director, Truepoint

I began working with Cheryl to receive feedback and coaching relative to my presentation skills.  Within a very short period of time, I realized Cheryl could aid me with so much more.  Cheryl is a very insightful and energetic coach who has a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with her clients.  She truly listens and partners with me on every aspect of my life.  She has aided me to clearly identify the essence of me and how to maximize my talents, personally and professionally.  My vision for my life is becoming a reality and Cheryl has tremendously aided me to achieve this.  I highly recommend Cheryl and truly value her as my coach, colleague and friend.

—Monica Brunaccini, MBA, Business and Personal Coach

The best way to describe my state of mind was frozen.  I was burning all of my energy in a profession that was depleting me physically and emotionally, which left few resources to tend to myself, my relationships and the other important aspects of my life.  I had no choice but to make a change.  I moved into action, visiting career counselors, taking personality and career tests, reading countless self-help books and attempting on my own to affect professional and personal changes.  Though I learned a great deal about myself through these efforts, the “life changes” I so badly anticipated were just not happening. It has only been through Cheryl’s coaching work with me that I have truly been able to make such changes.  Through weekly coaching sessions, she has enabled me to alter my current ways of thinking, and to perceive my life, others and my goals in a new and different light.  This newly-shaped outlook has empowered me in ways I never thought imaginable, enabling me to more effectively make professional and personal decisions aligned with my inner values rather than on the external forces that have been steering me (rather unsuccessfully!) for so long.  I owe this very real life transformation to Cheryl’s unique and successful coaching approach, in addition to her unwavering commitment in her work with me."

— Maura Tourian, Clinical Instructor, MGH Institute of Health Professions

After participating in Cheryl's coaching, I gained more clarity and connection to my own personal power, and felt more confident about my own abilities. Her unique process produces a profound and transformational change with long lasting effects. Cheryl brought an especially insightful perspective that helped me align with my core strengths, and offered new insights that provided inspiration and motivation. I now look forward to entering new or challenging situations with increased poise and certainty. Cheryl offers presentation skills coaching, but she is also a personal power/poise coach as well. Cheryl's workshop session is easily one of the best coaching experiences I have had. I consider our work together a wise investment, as I know it will lead to increased business success.
